Tingley Garden Centre – Mission Out

Tingley Garden Centre instructed Greenspan to help them bring their new Mission Out adventure to life.

Situated at their newly opened second garden centre, Tingley’s Mission Out saw a golden opportunity to maximise the use of the additional land to construct an outdoor activity park, specifically aimed at young visitors aged 6-14. Their idea is for a great value, access-all-areas day pass to active entertainment… all outside, of course!

Having seen the previous work that Greenspan has completed for multiple adventure parks, Mission Out invited Greenspan to create a concept that would attract the right clientele and provide hours of endless fun for all involved.

This led to the creation of the High Ropes course – a two tier adventure which allows visitors to complete the mission of manoeuvring through multiple mid-air challenges. This included innovative, bespoke obstacles designed to put core climbing skills to the test to provide a fun-filled experience… and sense of real achievement on completion!

The High Ropes might be an adrenaline-fuelled adventure, yet Greenspan have worked to ensure safety elements of the course are of paramount importance and the use of protective equipment, harnesses and the mandatory attendance of safety briefings are all in place. This included guidance from our in-house Project Manager and high ropes specialist.

Surrounding the High Ropes is the 9-hole adventure golf course, which allows visitors to play and remain part of the action. This leads on to the high bank slides with climbing ropes for an extra element of movement and fun!

Complementing the overall adventure is the three-story Jump Tower, which allows daring visitors to make the jump into Mission Out’s supersized airbag pillow, whether it’s from 3m, 4.5m or 6m.

Since opening officially in mid-July, the venue has seen ticket sales soar – where booking space has become limited due to the popularity of the adventure park.

In particular, the High Ropes course has been incredibly popular, with families admiring the well-balanced levels of challenge and fun – even for the smallest of climbers!

“It’s been so exciting to explore the kind of activities we should include in adventurous play, and we have had lots of input from our own children who have helped us to create an epic outdoor adventure!
