Hall Hill Farm, Outdoor Play

Hall Hill Farm is an award-winning farm attraction that opened to visitors in 1981. Since then, the farm has welcomed thousands of visitors and numerous awards including, Outstanding Educational Experience in the Pride of Northumbria tourist board and has been a finalist in the North East England Tourism Awards.

This family run farm already offers a number of attractions, including animal encounters, tractor rides, crazy golf, play opportunities, and a tearoom but they saw the opportunity to add another adventure! Hall Hill came to Greenspan with the brief to replace a very small, modular play structure with something striking. The play value and challenge were extremely important factors, to ensure that the structure was able to offer elements for all ages.

Our design team created this concept around the farm’s ethos and rustic surroundings by using the natural hardwood, Robinia, to create this multi-level play structure with the real WOW-factor! The levels are made up of four towers, connected by a series of bridges and netted tunnels, leading to slides to excite and challenge children.

Thats not all… Hall Hill Farm then requested that Greenspan organised a phase two project to create and complete two more Robinia play structures. One area was a singular play tower with a spiral slide and straight slide. The second structure was made up of three towers,  with a slide, rope bridge and climbing ramp, designed for a younger audience.
