Melco Resorts & Entertainment is opening the first integrated resort (IR) in Europe on 10 July in Limassol, Cyprus.

City of Dreams Mediterranean is described by Melco as the first true integrated resort in Europe. It is home to 500 guest rooms and a 7,500-square-metre casino.

It also features eight restaurants and bars, a shopping promenade, the largest expo centre in Cyprus, and various entertainment experiences.

These include Cyprus’ largest resort pool complex, a children’s club, and an adventure park with a zip line and trampoline zone.

“We look forward to captivating our guests with contemporary design, first-class entertainment, and immersive experiences.”

Greenspan Projects Ltd worked with Melco on the IR in Cyprus.

“Working with Melco on this has been a genuine pleasure – their passion for bringing this world-class development to life has invigorated the Greenspan team even further and there has been palpable synergy,” said Greenspan’s commercial director Charlie Edwards.

Cyprus’ largest resort pool complex

Earlier this year, Melco Resorts & Entertainment opened a new indoor water park and the Epic Tower hotel at its Studio City IR in Macau.

The 10,000-square-metre indoor water park includes 16 thrilling waterslides and attractions, while Epic Tower offers 338 suites.

Melco develops, owns and operates integrated resorts in Asia and Europe. It operates the Altira Macau and City of Dreams IRs in Macau, and majority owns and operates Studio City. In the Philippines, its subsidiary operates and manages City of Dreams Manila.

Elsewhere, the Japanese government has approved a plan develop the Osaka IR at an estimated cost of $13.5 billion.

Hirofumi Yoshimura, the governor of Osaka prefecture, revealed plans to open the IR in 2029.

Hendra Holiday Park

Hendra Holiday Park is an award-winning holiday park located close to Cornwall’s north coast, near Newquay.

Hendra are Visit England winners, scooping a Bronze Award in the Camping, Glamping, and Holiday Park of the Year category 2023. They also went through to the Visit England finals after winning Gold at the South West Tourism’s Holiday Park of the Year. Hendra is a five-star destination, home to bespoke Hendra holiday homes as well as touringcamping, and caravan pitches to suit everyone’s holiday needs.

The word Hendra is Cornish for ‘Home Farm’ which is perfect for this family-run site, set up in 1972. They are home to a huge range of family-friendly activities and amenities, ranging from Oasis Fun Pools – one of the largest indoor fun pools in the South West, to live entertainment and kids’ activities.

Hendra Holiday Park asked Greenspan to design and build a 9-hole Palm Beach themed Adventure Golf Course for the opening of their 2024 season. Our designers took inspiration from the surrounding coastal towns when coming up with the initial concept design, with the intention of bringing Newquay’s fun, vibrant and family-friendly atmosphere straight back into this site. The team were able to achieve this by incorporating sea themed creatures, treasure chests, a revolving flashing lighthouse, life-sized surfboards and a gigantic deckchair – perfect for your family photos!

It was important for us to work closely with the client, be fully transparent and take them on the Greenspan journey. Ensuring that the final installation, not only reflected the initial concept design, that the client saw and loved, but exceeded their expectations was crucial. We have designed this course so that it can be played during the day and into the evening, by people of all ages and abilities to enjoy and create memorable moments that will last a lifetime. – Chris Marais, Project Manager.

Keeping it local… Our team pride themselves on supporting local companies and suppliers when completing our projects, which can be seen in the landscaping of this mini-golf course. All of the planting areas and rock edgings are constructed by locally sourced products which not only supports local businesses in the area, but also reflects and enhances the local environment.
