Bringing Competitive Socializing to South Africa with a Complete FEC Design & Delivery

When the ownership team behind Shooters set out to create Johannesburg’s next major leisure destination, their vision was clear. To bring the global phenomenon of competitive socializing to South Africa. They wanted an experience that combined high-energy gameplay and immersive design with a vibrant atmosphere and food and beverage function that would keep guests coming back time and time again. 

Initially Greenspan were engaged to design a custom indoor mini golf course, but it quickly became clear that this was only the beginning of a much larger partnership. 

From Course Design to Complete Concept Creation 

Through early collaboration, it became evident that Greenspan could take on a broader role in developing not just the attraction design, but the entire Shooters brand and internal environment. 

From the brand name and visual identity, to the interior design and guest journey, Greenspan delivered a fully integrated concept. Inspired by the bold neon energy of the 1980s, the space combines nostalgia with a modern edge, vibrant lighting, statement wall art, and immersive color bring the venue to life from the moment guests step inside. 

A Multi-Activity Entertainment Experience 

At its core, Shooters is designed to offer variety, social connection, and replay value. The venue features: 

• A nine-hole sports-themed mini golf course, with each hole celebrating a different sport from golf and darts to football and basketball.
   

• Multiple AR darts systems and two VR clay shooting ranges.
   

• Digital shuffleboard, beer pong, and American pool tables, all set within the same dynamic social space. 

The result is a venue that caters to groups, parties, and casual players alike and where every visit offers a new way to play and engage with one another. 

Delivering a Brand with Staying Power 

Shooters officially opened in August 2025, introducing a fresh concept to Johannesburg’s leisure and nightlife scene in Fourways mall. Although early in its journey, the venue has already sparked plans for a second location, again in partnership with Greenspan, a strong endorsement of both the concept and the collaboration.
