Center Parcs UK
Whinfell Forest, Cumbria
Center Parcs has created a highly successful business model. Families arrive at one of its woodland villages, leave daily routines behind, and spend their entire break onsite. With occupancy consistently above 97% and nearly 200 activities available, the guest experience is at the heart of everything.
Yet, within that extensive program, one category was missing: competitive socializing. This trend had changed how families spent time together, but the high-energy, tech-infused social experiences driving that shift had no real place here. Center Parcs saw this as an opportunity and created the Entertainment Hive, a dedicated space for competitive socializing. And to anchor this space, they partnered with Greenspan.
The Entertainment Hive needed a main attraction that could serve Center Parcs’ most important requirement: an experience that worked for every guest, every age, every ability. Lee Carpenter, Director of Leisure at Center Parcs, explained their vision:
“We’re always looking to innovate and evolve the activities and experiences across our villages. Our new and exciting activities are the perfect addition for our guests, combining family fun, fitness, and cutting-edge technology all in one place.”
Puttify’s interactive mini golf design keeps every guest in the experience from the first hole to the last:
For a resort built around multigenerational family experiences, an attraction that holds every guest equally was essential. Puttify delivered exactly that.
Center Parcs attracts a remarkable number of guests, but the real challenge is keeping them engaged throughout their stay. While their existing program offered nearly 200 activities, most took place outdoors. So when the daylight fades or the weather turns, the range of high-energy social options becomes limited. That is where Puttify earns its place.
Puttify delivers both high engagement and high throughput. It can entertain more groups per day than a traditional mini golf course. Its non-linear course design means groups move freely between holes based on availability, the course never stacks up, and the energy stays high all day. For a resort operating at this scale, that combination is what makes an attraction commercially viable.
Center Parcs first launched the Entertainment Hive at Woburn Forest and, following its success, brought the concept here to Whinfell Forest on a larger scale, with Puttify anchoring both sites.
