A Wiltshire-Themed Adventure Golf Designed for a Countryside Leisure Venue

Picture an adventure golf course that brings the iconic landmarks of Wiltshire to life, engineered with precision and made for fun. That was the vision Basset Down brought to Greenspan: a course for its family leisure destination drawn from the ancient landscape its visitors have known all their lives.

Bringing “Ancient Wiltshire” Theme to Life

• The standing stones of Stonehenge and Avebury rise over the opening holes, framing the shots played beneath them.
• A river modeled on the Caen Hill Locks runs through the heart of the course, its wooden bridges carrying players from one bank to the next.
• The dome of Silbury Hill forms a central rise, its slopes shaping the holes that wrap around it.
• Hand-carved woodland creatures and dry-stone walls line the way between, lifted from Savernake Forest and Wiltshire folklore.

Wiltshire’s landmarks are vast, and the challenge was to scale them down without losing what makes them recognizable. Each was shaped to stay true to the original and to play as a hole in its own right, keeping the theming faithful and the golf strong across all eighteen.

A One-of-a-Kind Guest Experience

By anchoring the course in Wiltshire’s heritage, Basset Down introduces an experience unlike anything else in the region and gains a clear edge over local competitors. Partnering with Greenspan ensures their guests get an immersive experience rooted in design and playability. The result is a course that’s fun to play, built to last, and designed to keep guests coming back. The course opened to the public in August 2026.
