Indoor Mini Golf Designed and Built for Ocean Casino Resort

Ocean Casino Resort set out to capture a wider audience- families, couples, and non-gamers- and brought in Greenspan to design and build the attraction that would do it.

Spanning over 8,000 square feet across two levels, we delivered 18 holes of indoor mini golf and a standalone Puttify challenge hole, both designed to match the venue’s oceanic theme. Our mini golf design followed three principles:

• Playable by design. Each hole is shaped to reward a good shot without punishing a poor one, so a complete beginner and a confident player enjoy the same round.
• Higher throughput. With a non-linear layout, guests start at any hole and play in any order, so the course clears more players at peak times and fits more rounds into a day.
• Digital scoring. Scores track automatically as guests play, so the round runs uninterrupted from start to finish.

The Puttify challenge hole stands apart from the courses as a pay-to-play draw. A high score wins cash, a drink, or a room at the resort, giving guests a quick shot at a prize without committing to a full round and a reason to step up and try again.

Guests play, drink, and compete together, so a visit that might have been one quick game becomes a whole evening out, and the same footprint that entertains families throughout the day fills with an over-21 crowd at night, earning, across the hours, the gaming floor’s quiet.

As general manager Bill Callahan put it, the mix of mini golf and a vibrant bar scene “adds an entirely new dimension to the guest experience,” reinforcing Ocean as a must-visit destination in Atlantic City. It is proof of what the right casino entertainment attraction can do for an operator looking to widen both its audience and its revenue.
