Summer is on its way and team Greenspan is enjoying the longer days and the warmer weather. As a business that spends the majority of its time working outdoors, vulnerable to the elements, sunshine certainly makes the working day much more enjoyable!
Let’s go outdoors…
June is Great Outdoors Month and we are all taking the opportunity to get out and about more this month. For our Project Managers, Site Foremen and Contractors being outdoors is a standard part of their working day, but for our office-based staff, it can be a different story – with phones and computers taking priority over landscaping and construction. Luckily for them, Greenspan HQ is set in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire countryside, so they don’t have far to go for a lovely lunchtime walk.
Of course, the weekends are where it’s at for some real adventure and our team knows how to enjoy the great outdoors, with hiking, dog walking, cycling and camping just some of the favourite past times.
Ecotherapy is good for your mental health!
According to Mental Health Charity MIND, spending time in green space or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing. For example, doing things like growing vegetables or flowers, exercising outdoors or being around animals can have lots of positive effects such as:
- improve your mood
- reduce feelings of stress or anger
- improve your physical health
- improve your confidence and self-esteem
Sounds good, right? So, this month we urge you to take some time out from your busy schedule, and make a concerted effort to enjoy the great outdoors!
