Greenspan’s Concept Designer
One of Greenspan’s greatest strengths as a company is our ability to produce highly inspirational playscape designs for our clients. These designs stem from our talented Concept Designers within our Design Team, who provide highly imaginative concepts, which are provided to our Architects and Project Managers so they can turn them into reality.
Today we want to introduce one of our Design team’s gifted Concept Designer: Lucy Barton.
Lucy has come from a creative background and previously worked mainly in the hospitality and leisure sectors. She is a keen team player who is passionate about her work with enthusiasm to develop and expand her knowledge and expertise. She is a very gifted and creative individual and is a valued addition to the team.
We asked her what her favourite project was since starting with Greenspan:
“I would say the Adventure Golf Course at Planters Garden Centre (Tamworth). It was interesting to learn about the mountains and to have such a different geographical concept to research. It is so rewarding to see it built by our talented contractors, who bring our ideas to life”

What makes a project one of her favourites?
“My favourite projects are always ones I can really sink my teeth in to creatively, think outside the box and come up with unique angles that get a ‘Wow’ response. It’s not always about reinventing the wheel, but instead considering how we can improve it, change it and create a memorably unique experience.”
Why does she enjoy what she does?
“No day is the same; I love starting each day knowing I get to do the things I enjoy the most. Whether that be coming up with an explosive new golf design, sketching out an adventure play park, spatially planning layouts or a site visit. It is also a bonus how many random facts you acquire over the years with researching all the various concepts. It’s a great party trick – especially at a pub quiz! ”
What are you working on at the moment?
“I am currently working on something very exciting which is still under wraps, but it has allowed me and the team to really push the boundaries of golf design and explore creative avenues we never have before! Think neon, suspension, hair-raising holes – I think this one will be an all-time favourite… watch this space!”
