Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled the Solara Sports Deck aboard Seven Seas Prestige, the line’s first new ship class in a decade. When the ship enters service in December 2026, guests on Deck 14 will find an 18-hole putting course at the bow, a padel and pickleball court open to the ocean on both sides, and games running the length of the ship’s highest deck.

Greenspan Experiential Projects, the leisure attractions design and build company, is designing, engineering, and installing a collection of outdoor activities for the Solara Sports Deck as a turnkey project, from first concept to completed installation.

Greenspan’s Scope Aboard Seven Seas Prestige

• An 18-hole putting green: nine holes designed bespoke for the ship, each with two hole cups, so every hole plays two ways
• A bocce court
• A shuffleboard court
• The pickleball and padel courts’ playing surface and net 
• A golf practice cage 
• Baggo (cornhole) court
• A mixed games area with a giant chess board and a mini bowling lane

Together, these attractions span nearly 4,800 square feet of the ship’s highest deck, making Solara one of the most social spaces aboard the ship. Open to guests around the clock, the deck carries play from morning rounds on the putting green through afternoon matches on the court, and into games and tournaments that run long after sunset.

Engineering for Life at Sea

A cruise deck is a demanding place to build. Behind every concept Greenspan designs sits the technical work that makes an attraction playable, durable, and enjoyable on a moving vessel, year after year. On Solara, that work rested on four disciplines:

• Bespoke design. Nothing on the deck is a catalogue product. Every attraction was designed for Seven Seas Prestige: its spaces, its guests, and its brand.
• Playability. An attraction earns its place when guests return to it throughout a voyage. Every game on Solara is designed to be fun to play, with the right level of challenge, for guests of every age and ability.
• Materials built for the sea. Salt air, spray, and direct sun punish ordinary materials. The timber detailing that distinguishes Greenspan’s land-based courses gave way to marine-grade alternatives, chosen for durability, longevity, and quality of finish.
• Stability. Every course and game is fixed into the deck structure, holding firm while the ship is cruising.

The 18-Hole Putting Green

At the bow of the ship, the putting green fills a half-moon of deck that no standard course layout could fit. Greenspan designed all nine holes in-house, drawing on fifty years of designing and building leisure attractions. Each hole was shaped for playability: how the ball moves, how the challenge builds through the round, and how the course keeps guests coming back across a voyage.

Every hole is cut with two cups, giving guests two ways to play the same hole and fitting eighteen holes of play into a compact footprint. Accessibility is built into the course design, keeping the experience open to every guest on board.

Across the Sports Deck

The bocce court is edged in a long-pile synthetic turf that protects its playing surface and suits other lawn games such as croquet just as well. The golf practice cage combines a driving net, shade canopy, and miniature practice putting green. Even the baggo boards are built to last a long time at sea, with storage drawers and scorekeepers integrated into each board.

Greenspan’s Marine Portfolio

Solara joins a marine portfolio built over nearly ten years of designing and delivering attractions for the world’s leading cruise lines. Greenspan delivered themed play zones aboard Norwegian Epic and manufactured and installed a two-deck outdoor mini golf experience aboard Norwegian Luna in 2026. Earlier work at sea includes a bespoke play area aboard Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas and an adventure golf course for TUI Marella. 

The Solara Sports Deck marks Greenspan’s first project with Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and a testament to the collaboration: the two companies are already partnering on further projects at sea.

What Greenspan Builds for the Cruise Industry

Puttify: Greenspan’s tech-infused mini golf, where lights, sound, and interactive gameplay are built into every hole and scoring is fully automated. Its three-shot format keeps rounds moving, delivering typically 1.5 times the throughput of traditional mini golf, and makes the game easy for any guest to pick up and enjoy.

Immersive mini golf: Themed courses where story and setting carry through every hole, turning a round of mini golf into an experience guests remember. Digital scoring can be integrated throughout, so play flows without scorecards.

Signature Greens: Premium putting courses that apply golf design principles to high-quality synthetic greens, appealing to golfers and non-golfers alike. Established at resorts and leisure destinations on land, the concept can be tailored to spaces on board, indoors or out on deck.
