What’s the most attractive attraction right now?

We’re seeing a lot of interest in unique and challenging attractions, like high ropes with lots of different elements that will put skills to the test… and increase the adrenaline! It’s also interesting to see these become more and more popular in places that are not your “typical” attraction venues – such as hotels, resorts, and retail outlets. It really says a lot about how the visitor experience is changing from traditional hotel stays and shopping…

What’s driven this?

It sounds very cliché now… but certainly COVID-19. When we were faced with being stuck indoors and banned from enjoying experiences for a prolonged period of time… it made that sense of getting “out there” afterwards even more exciting, so people want an experience that they’ll never forget. And if this happens to coincide with a shopping trip or a dining experience (which you wouldn’t usually experience at your typical theme park) then why wouldn’t you want to go for it?!

Who is winning in this area right now, and why?

An excellent example is Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s City of Dreams Mediterranean. It’s Europe’s first integrated resort in Cyprus and only opened its’ doors in July… but has already started to win awards and boasts one of Cyprus’s biggest adventure attractions which, again, has helped them stand out from your typical resort. It actually has a whole adventure park with eight attractions – built by Greenspan Projects!

Is the visitor experience going to continue to change?

It’s surely going to grow ever-more immersive. Our clients love the exciting elements of theming and props at the moment that allow their visitors to interact and pose for pictures – ultimately creating user generated content which is wholesome marketing material in itself! This is mainly for our current competitive socialising builds, but I feel the trend will continue to grow with other attractions. Watch this space!

PAR3 Mini Golf

PAR3 has put Newport on the Levee on the map with their brand new competitive socialising venue, spanning over 17,000sq.ft! 

Greenspan recently completed the design, construction and installation of a 27-hole indoor modular golf venue in Newport on the Levee, Kentucky. This high quality venue features premium timber finishes and diverse theming, from Nascar Racing to a Golden Toilet, creating an eclectic and engaging atmosphere. 

The 27 holes are made up of three 9-hole courses; Ace, Birdy and Eagle. Every hole is custom designed to be both challenging and fun, making it the perfect venue for both pros and novices to test their skills. From unique sabotage holes to interactive gameplay, your group is sure to enjoy themselves and make for some amazing Instagramable shots.  

Par 3 was an absolute pleasure to manage through design, procurement and delivery. The amazing Greenspan team worked closely with our client Mo, to bring his vision to life and help put indoor golf on the map in Newport, Kentucky! I worked very closely with Mo and our successful collaboration helped drive the project forward to open on time and budget. Throughout the fit out, Mo’s family came to see the progress and it was fantastic to see the happiness on their faces. Digital scoring… swap your paper and pencil for a specialist cocktail while you cruise through your course with the ease of digitally inputting your scores. Each hole is fitted with a 22” tablet that displays your scores as well as hole in one tips and tricks.
